KERRY O'BRINE FASHION - YEAR 3 FASHION
PROJECTS
This project required the students to design a Spring Summer Collection
based on a vintage garment. Next, they had to take the key piece from
this collection (right) as a starting point to produce an Autumn Winter
Collection.
Kerry chose the vinytage garment (above). She liked the servere S shaped
sillouette, the contrasts and blends with the draping layered fabrics.
She wanted her designs to create an S shape sillouette and instead of
using a corset she would use the lines and cut of garment and the fall
of the fabric to give the impression.
The contrast of the 2 colours, black and pink, also interested her because
they indicated conflicting emotions to her. The pink femine and pretty,
the black edgy and hard.
This key dress from the S/S Collection has a large belt panel to give
the effect of an S shaped sillouette.
The dress is made of torn chiffon & beading with a chiffon underlay.
